Take Action
for Child Health Day October 6
October 6, 2008 is
the 80th anniversary of
Child Health Day. This day is dedicated to raising
awareness about childhood health and working to improve it.
The theme for Child Health Day 2008 is “Eat Healthy and Be Active for a Healthy
Future."
Children's Clinic welcomes new pediatrician
Dr. Elizabeth
Murray, board certified
pediatrician, joined the staff of the Children's Clinic July, 2008. She will see
patients three days a week. Call the appointment desk to schedule an
appointment.
Protect your child against
the flu.
The CDC now recommends that
all
children from age 6 months to 18 years receive the flu vaccine.
The Flumist (intranasal spray) is available now at the Children's Clinic to
protect children and adolescents age 2 years and up. The flu vaccine (injection)
will be available at the end of September.
Protect your family for
hurricanes
As hurricanes threaten the Gulf Coast, the AAP offers
resources for families and pediatricians.
Vaccines Save Lives
As the U.S. experiences its largest measles outbreak in
more than a decade, the AAP reminds parents why it’s important to protect
children from vaccine-preventable infections.
